HT NT3 - Bravia Sync problem

HT NT3 - Bravia Sync problem

Hi

I have Sony TV with ARC and Bravia Sync and I have connected HT-NT3 Soundbar.

The connections are:

HT-NT 3 (HDMI 1/ARC) ---> SONY TV (HDMI 1 ARC)

HT-NT 3 (HDMI 2)          ---> Sattelite receiver (HDMI)

HT-NT 3 (HDMI 3)          ---> PlayStation 4 (HDMI)

HT-NT 3 HDMI 4            ---> Chromecast Ultra (HDMI)

For the first couple of months every this was working great. Bravia Sync discovered HTNT-3 as AUDIO SYSTEM and the rest 3 devices as PLAYERS (1, 2 and 3).

Since the last update Bravia Sync starts showing HT-NT 3 as AUDIO SYSTEM and PLAYER at the same time, so it limits additional players to only 2.

Now Bravia Sync shows:

Player 1 - Sattelite Receiver

Player 2 - Playstation 4

Player 3 - HT-NT3

Audio System - HT-NT3

As you can see the Chromecast is no longer discovered by Bravia Sync.

Is there any way to stop Bravia Sync discover HT-NT3 as a PLAYER so I can gain control of my Chromecast again?

Thank you

Hi there

Im unsure on what TV model you have, but see if this works or helps:

  1. Turn TV completely OFF
  2. Disconnect all HDMI cables from the TV
  3. Turn TV on again and leave on for a couple of minutes
  4. Turn TV OFF again
  5. Connect the HT-NT3 to the TV's ARC port (leaving all other HDMI cables disconnected from the TV AND the HT-NT3)
  6. Turn TV on again and ensure speakers are set to 'Audio system'
  7. Turn TV off again
  8. Plug in the all the other devices
  9. Turn TV on again and test.   Has this worked?

If this doesnt work and considering that it started happening after a firmware update as you described, I would suggest a factory reset of the TV and HT-NT3 and set it back up again.

Hope this helps.

Cheers
