Touchpad left button unresponsive

The left button on my touchpad has become very unresponsive. I often have to press down hard several times to get it to respond. Does anyone know why this has happened and how it can be fixed ? I am running Windows 7 on a Sony Vaio VPCEA1S1E, thanks.

If you have to press it down many times before it responds, that's definitely a hardware issue which needs a technicain to repair it or maybe replace the touchpad.

Does the right click respond fine? If that is the case, you can possibly call support and have it RMAed. Hopefully, this notebook is still under warranty.

Same problem with VPCF13. Its a Sony hardware issue but as in other cases no answer from them

I have had the same problem since the computer was 12 months old and sony where totally unhelpful T

o get round the problem I have installed a wireless mouse   I would not buy another sony
