Changing the SD Card without lose anything...?

I had the 8GB card that comes with the Xperia Pro, but I need more space to put my music and stuff. So I'm about to buy a Class 4 Kingston SDcard.

But I'm not quite sure of the proper way to change my data from the old card to the new one, considering that I had some apps installed in the SD card.

Anyone can point me in the right direction?

You can re-download the apps from Google Play. About the others, copy the folders from your SDcard to the desktop and then copy again into the new one.

P.S.

I suggest to you a SDcard class 10. Low price for 32GB, for example a Samsung.

mmm the class 10 ones are cheap ...but not in my country, well not so much,

ie, this one:

Costs about in $15.99 ebay, here cost about $60.00, four times more!

I think I can wait until some friend comes back from anyother country and bring me a class 10 3GB card.

I have several apps in the 8GB sd card (that I just saw is a class 2!!!), maybe is this why I feel like the xperia is a little bit laggy?

Now that I think about it, maybe is this why sometimes I get glitches when I'm listen to music files?

Class 2 is a little...poor

The Xperia Pro is a UHS-I compatible device ? I ask because the SanDisk card it's a UHS-1 (or UHS-I) card.

I'm currently in Perú so I have to see if the amazon sellers send the stuff over here.

Do you think this is why i feel the xperia a little bit laggy ? beacuse I have apps in a class 2 8GB card? maybe I'm wrongly blaming ICS!

I'm in Italy, I have this SanDisk and it is awesome, very very fast. The meaning of UHS1 concern the speed (Speed Class 1).

Your Xperia feel laggy because ICS is full of bugs yet. The SD card is secondary, at this moment. If Sony don't fix bugs, I preferred to stay with GB.

Today I spent several hours digging on internet trying to find some information about microSDHC Class 10 and the latest bus speed UHS-I and UHS-II and the compatibility with Sony Xperia Neo V.

Sadly to say, (in my case/searches) I could only found maybe 4 or 5 blogs/forums which said " I have Sony Xperia Neo V and I use Samsung 32GB microSDHC Class 10... and works just perfect, works fine, no problems, it is recognized OK, etc, etc....

This was the only blog I could found talking about Sandisk UHS-I 32GB microSDHC. (Which I want it) However, reading in Amazon.com, I found http://g-ecx.images-amazon.com/images/G/01/electronics/detail-page/c26-B007WTAJTO-faq-uhs-vs-u1.pdf so if the theory is correct it should work.

Since I have had veeeeery bad luck with this Neo V, at the end I bought Samsung 32GB microSDHC Class 10 in Amazon.es (the price was cheaper and the 1 day shipping was free for the 1st month). I wish I could have tried Sandisk UHS-I 32GB microSDHC, but the model I wanted was able only in Amazon.com and the shipping was brutal and too much time to arrive.....

UdoKuoio could you please (If time allows you) summit / upload, further information for your case, in this way other users in the future could be better guided.

SD, SDHC, SDXC does not relate to the speed, but the capacity:

SD          till    2GB
SDHC     from 2GB to 32GB
SDXC     from 64GB to 2TB

For the speed you would use instead another parameter: the class.

2     16Mbit/s (2MB/s)   13x
4     32Mbit/s (4MB/s)   26x
6     48Mbit/s (6MB/s)   40x
10     80Mbit/s (10MB/s) 66x

However, these are minimum speeds.

To arrive at a speed more substantial the abbreviation to search on SDHC/XC is another:

UHS-1 from 25MB/s to 104MB/s
UHS-2 from 104MB/s to 312MB/s

The UHS symbol, which stands for Ultra High Speed, can be found exclusively on products SDXC and SDHC cards. THE UHS-I is the fastest category that are currently available, with a bus interface capable of reaching speeds up to 104 MB/s, while the UHS-II can reach 300MB/s. Designed to allow users to record video in HD, and run simultaneously other recording features, memory cards SDXC UHS-I e SDHC UHS-I touch the peak of perfomance, if combined with a device UHS-I. The boards SDHC UHS-1 offer superior performance in data transfer when compared with the SDHC Class 10.

But it all depends on your smartphone and the use, more or less intensive, that you do with it.

In short, to choose your memory evaluated in the first place what will serve you and the transfer-rate you need, then for the choice analyzed not so much SD SDXC that indicate only the cutting. And that not even the class, saw that all things under the 10 will definitly stay here again should not and above this there is still a world of possibilities with products fast and slow. Don't rely on so much of abbreviations in short, rather than try and check the raw data relating to the speed of reading/writing.
