I had this problem in previous Android versions as well. I have upgraded to Android 4.1.2 Build 6.2.B.0.200 last week, but the problem stayed the same. I checked the discussions; other experia phones seem to have similar problems but the solutions either do not apply to my phone (S) or there is no solution reached in the thread. When I assign a ringtone specific to a contact, I never get it. It does not have anything to do with restarting the phone. I know how to set up a ringtone to a contact so I am not asking how to do it. I have been able to setup different contacts with my previous 11 phones (most of them dumb) and I am frustrated with the experia S.
