- Phone was unlocked, unrooted. R800i

- Phone is brand new, only 3 days since I got it

- Phone was 100% charged, wall charged for 30min, all anti virus/firewall are off

After attemping to update and failed, my phone is soft brick.

When I tried to turn it on, the red light flashes 3 times and nothing happens.(Phone doesn't turn on)

When I wall charge it, it will loop the Sony Ericsson sreen and the soft brick screen,

SUS update will immediately fail when I connect the phone to the computer. The status bar for downloading data to the phone will go from start to finish within .5 sec and say " The Update was unsucessful"

This is my 2nd sony phone, I doubt I'll ever get a 3rd one if I know that Sony software will destroy your phone if they failed the update. I bought this phone 2 months ago and I used this for less then a month. The 1st one had a broken flex cable within 3 weeks and I got a new replacement since there is warrantly for 3 months. Now I have another broken phone 3 days after receiving it...

I'm sorry to hear what happened to your phone. Unfortunately you will have to send in your phone to a service center for repair as there isn't really much you can do by yourself to fix this issue.

Contact your local Xperia Support for more information:

http://www.sonymobile.com/global-en/support/contact-us/

What are your thoughts about this forum? Let us know by doing this short survey.

Would sony cover for it? since it might be the Sony Companion's fault that it crashed my phone.

My phone doesn't have warrantly with Sony.

If it's caused by a manufacturing issue or PC Companion, the warranty should cover it. You mention your phone is just 3 days old, did you buy it from a store?

What are your thoughts about this forum? Let us know by doing this short survey.

I didn't buy it from sony, got it from a trusted seller on ebay. They told me to see the pricing of fixing the phone here compare to shipping it back and have them fix it.

I feel bad for them, already exchanged the phone once because of the common problem on the phone itself.
