I'm afraid that the Xperia XA2 Ultra does not support this feature, or the tap to wake feature, however I will make sure to forward your thoughts on this internally as user feedback!

DTTS and DTTW doesn't seem to be consistently implementated across devices - it's not on some of the premium end phones either. I prefer it for putting a phone to sleep, but use the fingerprint scanner to unlock and wake mostly these days.

Hi @nathanhorner, you are correct!

Both the features (tap to wake and tap to sleep) are not available on our newer devices, such as the Xperia XZ1-series, however I don't have any information as to why they are not available.

I will make sure to forward your thoughts on this internally as user feedback as I can see how both features can be very helpful, for example if you want to just check your notifications, without having to unlock your device.

This big phone needs easy wake and sleep, please fix it. It's very uncomfortable to work.

One of the reasons to buy again Sony is just this feature, it is extremely convenient.

If you're not too much against third party solutions, https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=xyz.paphonb.systemuituner

has the option to modify the navbar. Despite relatively low score on the play store, it does it's job really well. You can add custom button, I'm using one on the far left as tap to sleep. Single press, and it's off.

No pawer button visible, no finger .

Not only is it helpful it prevents premature failure of the buttons. In my previous phone I just picked it up or waved my hand over the screen to make it light up. I twisted my wrist to activate the camera when it was locked. When I push the button twice for the camera, it doesn't work more often than it does and I miss the photo opportunity by the time I can get the camera to work. This is a big issue for my job duties and is really frustrating.

@Baltojo in order to quickly launch camera, you can always press and hold the camera button. it always works, even when the display is off.

Hello everyone, sorry for the late reply!

@Pepinov, if you are able to access the fingerprint on the back of your device, you can hold your finger there and the device will unlock and the screen will turn on. I would however not recommend using your device while driving.

@Baltojo, as @najodleglejszy mentioned, try holding the camera button pressed for a short or tap it once then tap it again for a photo to be taken, depending on how you set the button up.

If you want to take a photo directly, open up the Camera application > cogwheel > More > Quick launch, choose the action you want to perform.

@KikaPochemuchka, I'll make sure to forward your feedback internally and the feedback from the other users as well!

@Pepinov, it wasn't meant to be a solution, just a recommendation. I'm not sure about your country, but in the region (the Nordics) where I'm situated it's against the law to use your device while driving.

Have you checked if there is another car holder available for your device that does not cover the fingerprint sensor? That could also work.
