I am using the Xperia Chinese Input method , and when I switch to the English keyboard, the speech input button is at the dot's place, which lead to great inconvenient to me. When I am inputing a website address, I must click the number button and click the dot and switch to English keyboard to continue. I don't use the speech input, so is there a way to replace the speech input button with the dot button? I have already disabled the speech input in the setting, but it is still there.

It annoyed me so much.

Thank you!

I faced the same problem. what I did was disable Voice input, disable Voice dailer. Then configure keyboard. Now I have the "dot" on my Chinese keyboard.

There actually is a more correct way of doing that. Follow the steps below:

1. Go to Settings > Language & Input

2. Under Keyboard & Input Methods, tap on the Settings button for Xperia keyboard

3. Tap on Keyboard appearance

4. Tap on Additional keys

5. Tick the checkbox for Full stop and comma keys

That should do the trick.

Cheers, mate!

Don't forget to mark the Correct Answers & Helpful Answers

You can refer to my previous post and do steps 1 & 2. And then tick the checkbox for Google voice typing key. This should give you this keyboard layout:

Don't forget to mark the Correct Answers & Helpful Answers

I think there's a bug in sony's input methods. When you untick google voice input, it should automatically remove the voice input icon from chinese input method. However, this is not happening. After I rooted my phone and installed google now for ics, (essentially a new version of google search), I can disable voice input icon from the chinese input by disable/untick google voice input from the menu.

I think i figured out the solution.

basically the author's problem has to do with him using the Xperia Chinese keyboard together with Google voice input.

He set the default keyboard as Xperia CHINESE keyboard ,instead of Xperia International / English keyboard

While others have posted solutions for the Xperia International keyboard (English),

the author finds that it doesn't work.

Well,

I am using Xperia Z3 dual

I tried calling the helpline, but without much use.

The solution i believe is the same for both my phone and your Xperia.

Basically,

go to settings, language and input

tap the tool next to Xperia Chinese keyboard

click on voice input

then you can chooose to place the voice input button INSIDE the change language button

afterwards, you have your full-stop/period or 句號 back in the place, while the voice input MIC is now hidden inside the change language button and can be activated after long-pressing it.
