Xperia U StartUp problem with sim card inserted.

Hi all,

Mine One year Old Xperia U problem switched off suddenly yesterday. When i tried restarting , phone boots but display goes blur with only transparent bar glowing.Each time when i press power key phone restarts and goes to same blur mode with glowing transparent bar.
Tried restarting the phones many times but no luck

Repaired phone using PC companion but still the same . Today morning i removed the SIM and phone worked like a charm. Thinking it might be Sim issue have inserted differnt Sim , but still same result.Without Sim, phone is working fine.

If any one of you have faced the similar issues please post. Would expect Sony developer to suggest the possible causes.

Try to insert other sim card.. If that doesn't work, Try to send your phone to service center

As said above it can be good to try with additional another SIM card.

To rule out any software problems I recommend that you try to repair the phone software using PC Companion:

Hi Akshay,

Possible causes for this issue is in device board. According to service center this wiuld cost around 40% of phone price.

bro i ahve the same problem i went to service senter they told me its hardware problem and ui have to replace the greean palte the mother board wihcih copst abt 6800 rs is becouse 2nd hand phone price is aboubt 7 k .. i dn think its is a hardware prob plzz find a solution and give m e to ya it happend last night wiht me

how comee same defect in all the phones this is sony chaeaing their customers this is not good.. sony.. same porblem in xperia Z aslo they dnt have equpment to service the phone to why do the seel these handsets then

I have the same issue... Cannot use the phone when sim is inserted. It keeps restarting in a loop(Is is even a phone then?)

So many people are complaining of the same issue, so this is not an isolated case

It's a defect in the model itself and we consumers have to pay the price of that.

This should be posted and shared on all the networking sites. Warn people against buying sony phones.

Same issue with my one and half yr old xperia U since today morning...

tried factory resetting, software update, software re-installation... all in vain.

Sony is cheating its customers

same problem here i took it to service center they said its a hardware problem and it costs 6k -7k rupees....

I am also facing the same issue.

If so many users are facing the same issue then it means it is the issue with the Xperia U model only.

Sony must compansate for the issue which we are facing.

I have got same problem. I did factory reset and upgraded to ICS using Sony PC Companion.
Service centre guy, instantly said that my phone problem is because of water get in the phone. According to him board needs to be changed costing Rs.7000/-
I think this is a common problem and not any water getting into phone problem. Sony is making very poor phone. My brother and a cousin bought Xperia Z and both of them changed there phone with other brands.

when i insert my sim card in my xpiria u then it suddenly switch off and only led is running

and when i start my phon after this then also turn off ..............

plz help me in this problem.....

and when i start it without simcard, it running good

GOOD NEWS A.K.A SOLUTION

First diagnosis your problem

-> Turn on your phone without Sim card, if it's work normal you can move to next step.

-> Turn on your airplane mode ON, Then turn off your phone

-> Insert your sim card and turn you phone on

-> Set your wifi on and keep airplane mode ON

-> If you can do step all above you can move to the solving step

=> The problem might accors as the result from "setting crash" between your phone internet setting and your sim setting.

we did hit "Internet setting" on ->Setting ->Xperia ->Internet settings didn't we

Second. The solution

-> With your phone still on and at airplane mode with wifi enabled, downloand "clean master" on google play.

-> Restart your phone without sim card, turn off airplane mode and wifi.

-> Clean your chace and free up some your rom a little.... close the app after you finished

-> Setting Reset your phone ->setting ->backup&reset ->setting reset [you will not lose your data and downloaded apps]

-> After the reset, turn off your phone to insert your sim card

-> Turn it on, and if it's working please smile and thanks god

turn your phone on without sim card, enable airplane mode. turn off you phone

insert your sim card to your phone and turn it on

turn off your airplane mode, this will make your phone to crash.

hold your power button to restart. if it's on then it's done
