3G not work after upgrade Sony Xperia L to Android 4.2.2 version

Hi Everyone,

I have upgraded my Sony Xperia L (C2104 model), after upgradation OS & build version as below.

Android version - 4.2.2, Basband version - 8930B-BAAAATAZQ-3228109-08-0031

Kernel version - 3.4.0-g74b701b-00042-ged52e3b-dirty, Build version - 15.3.A.0.26

after upgrade i am facing an issue with 3G, only 2G connection is working. when i have selected WCDMA only or WCDMA (preferred)/GSM mode than 3G connection totaly lost showing red cross sign.

Even i tried to add new APN settings from airtel customare support, my APN settings as below.

Settings --> more --> Mobile networks --> Access Point Names

APN Name - MI

APN - airtelgprs.com

Proxy/Port/Username/Passsword/Server/MMSC/MMS Proxy - Not set (Default value)

MCC - 404 (Default value)

MNC - 10 (Default value)

Authentication type - None

APN type - default

APN/APN roaming protocol - IPv4 (Default value)

Bearer - Unspecified

and also download APN settings from below options

Settings -> Xperia -> Internet Settings, but all these changes are not resolve 3g connection issue. This same issue was facing my colleague with Sony experia Z handset.

I am requesting to everyone & sony suport expert, kindly help me to sortout of this 3g connection issue.

Try Settings--More--Mobile networks--Network operators--Search for all networks. A list of all available networks, 2G and 3G, will be shown. Your home network's 2G and 3G services may be shown as separate networks. Choose the 3G service of your home network.

Now suddenly 3g connecting, but whenever it connected with 3g after few minute phone got hanged & rebooted automatically. Its all happened after upgrade of OS Android version 4.2.2.

i am facing problem with xperia L , that 3G is not working in my area but 2G is working where wcdma/gsm mode is not able to access 3G connection and i cannot recieve calls and make calls but gsm mode can able to make calls and answer calls. so, please help me

I am also facing the same problem with Airtel 3G. The dual mode is not working on my Xperia L after the latest update to build number 15.3.A.1.12.

Even choosing the 3G network from Select Network option doesnt work. It shows full network but not able to make or receive calls

I am facing the same problem here too. Mine is a C2104 from TIM (Brazilian carrier). Since the 15.3.a.0.26 update my 3g connection is unstable, and sometimes (like in the last days) I cannot connect even using 2g mode. Not even reflashing my phone with the original ROM solves the problem.

Btw, I've noticed that the Brazilian sonymobile website changed the xperia L model from C2104 to C2105. Is it related with the problem?

Same problem here!

Everything works fine (Wifi/text/call) on my phone after i updated to 4.2.2 only the 3g connection is failing.

I have contacted my provider and together we concluded that there is nothing wrong wit my Sim-card, there is nothing wrong with my phone, only the two cannot work together after 4.2.2 (before the update 3g worked fine).

Can someone from Sony contact someone from Android to maybe fix this problem for us?

Already did, they said to perform the update again via PC. I did it twice, still the same problem.

Now i've send them an email, hopefully they get a solution by tomorrow. If so, i'll post it here.

I found the answer...u have to do the factory data reset roght after updating your phone to 4.2.2..it works...i did tried on my phone now

After i update my xperia L c2105 to firmware 15.3.A.1.14 my 3g dont work at all.I make factory reset 10 times.I use pc companion to fix my firmware 3 times.Nothink can fix that problem.What can i do?

Ok, it seems to be working for me right now.

I did contact Sony. They senden me this link: http://www.sonymobile.com/nl/tools/%20update-service/

It's Dutch but you'll figure it out easily. After everything was downloaded and unpacked you start the Update Service and select your device. Then it will go back to the factory settings but it will not delete 4.2.2.

Here's the trick with my phone, i have the C2104 but when i did that, nothing was changed, still no data traffic.

Then i did previous steps again but i selected the C2105 and now it works. Hopefully tomorrow also but that was my problem.
