Hi, I just bought Xperia V on 30th Dec 2013, just a month old and already i started facing issues (31st Jan 2014). There was no recent update to softwares or App installed. Am using same charger which was provided along with box piece. I really annoyed with the issue as all my contacts, emails, and other important data is in Xperia V. I tried to restore the phone using sony pc companion but am unable to do it as phone is continuously restarting without a break. I tried to remove sim card & memory card and then restart it but again this trouble shooting option failed as well.

Am in need of help urgently as all my efforts to restore were invain., am located in Dubai, & this mobile was purchased from Carrefour - Deira City Center.

Thanks & regards.,

Syed Asim Ahmed

Hi and welcome to the community! Since you're new please be sure that you have checked out our Discussion guidelines.

I would suggest that you first of all try to boot your phone into safe mode to see if the problem may be related to any 3rd party app that you have installed in your phone:

http://talk.sonymobile.com/t5/FAQ/How-to-boot-your-phone-into-safe-mode/m-p/348008#U348008

If the problem still persists I suggest that you repair the phone software using PC Companion:

http://www.sonymobile.com/update

In PC Companion, press start on Support Zone > Start on Update the phones software > Press the blue link that says "Repair phone".

I am experiencing the same problem and worse. My Sony Xperia V reboots and reboot suddenly, and sometimes just turns off by itself.

I have tried all the suggestions listed on Sony support site, but they have not worked. Even I contacted the Sony's call center in Colombia and they say there is nothing to do.

I can not believe that answer, I bought a original Sony device and now Sony is telling me they can not help with a technical problem.

I am desperate please help.

Thanks

I have the same problem with my Xperia V device. And I already checked third party apps by safe mode. But no any issue were showing up at the time. Please fix this ASAP. And I probably believe this issue came with 4.3 update and its a issue of 4.3.

If you experience the same behavior in safe mode I suggest that you reinstall/repair the phone software using PC Companion:

http://www.sonymobile.com/update

In PC Companion, press start on Support Zone > Start on Update the phones software > Press the blue link that says "Repair phone".

Before repairing the software in your device you may want to backup your information first. Check out this topic for more information on how to:
http://talk.sonymobile.com/t5/FAQ/Backup-amp-Transfer/m-p/407253#U407253

Anyone of you solved this issue? I had somehow fixed mine, the actual problem I think is the battery pack. I took the risk of spending some few bucks for a new battery pack just to test if it is the battery that causing the problem. Right now, my V is working well with all intense apps, never reboot again using the new battery pack.

I also tried flashing back and forth on some builds that I thought before is the reason why it restarts but even using JB 4.1.2 and JB 4.3, it still restarts/reboot. Also if your phone sometimes got through the boot screen and show the lock screen, if you see that the language has been reset to something default(mine is in HK language), it's the power supply from battery is failing making the phone gets soft-resets. I am still happy that it isn't the phone itself as the V's battery is replaceable.
