KitKat update failed

Followed steps perfectly and right at the end of update with my tablet connected to my PC, it gave my PC blue screen of death and tablet keeps saying update failed. It won't power on and PC companion won't register its connected to my PC. What a crappy program to crash my computer and now it locked up my tablet. Good job Sony. anyone have any ideas how to fix this?

Try performing a system repair as this will fix the issue after a failed upgrade - This will factory reset your phone

Switch off your tablet and unplug from Pc (Hold volume up and power for around 10 seconds)
Start PC Companion and select Support zone then Update my phone/tablet then in Blue Repair my phone/tablet and follow the onscreen instructions - When prompted connect your tablet still switched off holding volume down or back button - This should start the repair or reformat process

If you are using Windows 8/8.1 or a 64bit operating system then adjust the settings for PC Companion and run in compatibility mode and chose Windows 7 or XP

Yes, it worked but wiped my tablet, luckily I don't use it for critical stuff. Was not fun having it reset. Only issue is the double tap on the screen feature doesn't work anymore.

This is not really helpful but the double tap anyway eats your battery life like chocolate!!
