if you bought the phone through a carrier/network, you should contact them first as they might be able to fix it free or cheaper than with Sony, if you go with Sony

http://www.sonymobile.com/global-en/support/contact-us/

So,I've Had my Z1 compact for almost three months.. I've had constant issues with the random screen malfunction. Basically where the phone just goes Rouge an does what it please. It was fantastic explaining to 911 that my phone kept dialing them not me. Then even through all of that headache I was Still impressed buy the durability an the semi waterproof aspect of it.

I lost my phone yesterday, an it made its way inside of the sofa(behind the cushions) I just found it this morning, an the screen is cracked from one end to the other the touch screen will not respond at al,l so turning my morning alarm off was fun when I was able to find it. Now I was wondering how can I have these issues corrected? Should I go direct through Sony for repairs or should I deal directly with my Cell service provider?

Sorry I've Been really Lazy about getting it sent for repairs but Here is the update as of today. My carrier at the time of purchase did not ever offer or attempt a upsell on extended warranty, When I asked the retailer about purchasing additional warranty. I was told "It comes with a one year free replacemnet, There is no additional warranty you can purchase" ( Wich of course was BS when I contact my carriers support line) But anyway I mailed my phone in for repairs to my provider. They shipped it to Sony given the condition, So I'm assuiming it will more than likely get swapped for a refurbished one, I don't think you can fix the bends in the aluminium sides. An the random moments when the screen will go complete rouge an does what it feels like. My carrier did say If the repair or replacement cost was above $150 that they would cover half the difference. So That is some semi good news.
