I recently had a failed attempt to update a tablet Z. The update downloaded and PC companion began the install, but after only a few seconds the tablet said the update had failed. Now the tablet doesn't boot. I tried repairing using PC companion but the software continusouly stalls at about 25% through the "preparing computer for update step".

Is there any other way to resolve this? And, is there any way to retrieve the files on the internal memory?

Incredibly dissapointed by the quality of this update process. Great products, but possibly the worst PC software. Had issues with the last update too.

I had the same problems with the last (not the latest update). I used then SUS, (but it's not available any more) but the update failed again. With some tries suddenly PC Compangion was able to update it correctly.

Try some times, it works for me

Hey man. I had the same problem more or less. Upgrade to 4.4.4 failed and the tablet would not open but say that I need to connect it to the pc companion to retry the upgrade! When connected to the pc companion it wouldn't anymore recognize the device as connected thus it would't upgrade! So what did I do? I spoke with a wise guy and he told me this - press volume up while connecting the usb cable to the pc. If the led of the device turns blue that's good news. If not... Mine turned blue and this guy downloaded the firmware from internet and with some program, I don't know it's name, managed to rewrite my firmware on the device without losing any data. You can research this stuff on the net about rewriting the software for your device and hopefully you'll find the program and everything. And it's doable, you dont need to be Gates to do it!
