Hi,

Looking for some help. I have had my Z1 Compact since arounf the end of Feburary and recently it has started to seriously malfunction. The screen will act like someone else is touching the centre of the screen. This results in being unable to scroll, type, and basically make it unusable until I reset the phone. I cannot turn it off by just using the power button as it wont let e select "power off" or when it asks if I'm sure "OK". The past month or so it has been ok and this is happening 3 maybe 4 times a week but the past 2-3 days I have had to reset it 3-5 times per day! The phone has in no way been mishandled or anywhere near water (i know its waterproof but I still like to keep it away from water) but does from time to time overheat when on charge, this has also resulted in the screen being cracked. A fault which I appeared after it overheated around 3 or 4 months ago and magically came out my pocket cracked after only walking about 10 metres. Has anyone any advice about what I can do about this? or any idea about what the fault could be about. I feel a bit weary of sending it to sony via the post as I do not have the box and I don't want it damaged in the post. I'm from the UK if that helps get somesort of answer.

Also, after the crack appeared I did take it to its place of purchase only to be blamed for mishandling it.

Thanks,

Emma

Hi I'm experiencing the same problem. At first, I was told to update my phone's software but still, it did not get any better. I went to a service centre only to find out that they only did the same. After 2 hours of wait, I got my phone back. However, the screen continued to malfunction the very next day and so I went back to the service center. Last Aug. 11, they forwarded it to their main centre for repair but up till now, the repair status is "ongoing". It's sad to know that the phone have many other problems from what I have read in these forums. I just bought it last May and I think its price does not justify it's quality for me yet.

Ms. Emma, have you resolved your issue in your phone too?

Thanks.

Hello guys, my Xperia z1 compact is driving me up the wall. It has the same screen malfunction where it randomly appears to do what it wants. I bought the phone earlier this year, and then had it replaced under my carriers insurance, but now the replacement is doing the same thing. I haven't dropped, broken or drowned the phone at all. The malfunction is so bad I can't use it at all (am currently using my old phone of another brand). However when I take it back to the carrier, it works fine( as all tech devices do). If I claim it again under my insurance, they will charge me an excess again. I an asking sony and anyone else how can I solve this problem without incurring any costs, as I shouldn't have too pay to fix a NEW device. Any assistance would be appreciated.

Cheers.
