Battery charging

Hello all,

I purchased a Sony xperia E1 a week today and up until 3 days ago had no problems with it, now I have a problem in that my battery will not charge properly.

I have tried various charging cables and get the same result with them all, if I plug them in and the phone is switched on I get no indication that the phone is charging and the battery does still drain, however if I turn my phone off the battery begins to charge, then again if my phone is switched on whilst charging it again stops.

In short it is only charging when the phone is turned off.

Has anyone come across this before and can this be fixed?

I suggest that you boot your phone into safe mode to see if you experience the same behaviour from here:

Otherwise, I suggest that you perform a software repair via PC Companion:

In PC Companion you press start on Support Zone > Start on Update the phone/tablet software > Repair phone/tablet (the blue clickable link in the message) > Follow these steps without having your device connected to the PC.

Follow the instruction that appears in the program and do not connect your device until this guide tells you how to connect it.
