Xperia XZ (F8331) Text message status sending

My text messages never go off the "sending" status even though they have been sent. The only way to stop them is to restart the phone which then re-sends all the pending texts. After a restart the texts work normally for about a half hour, I do nothing else on the phone, only the apps running in the background.

I'm on the T-Moble network.

Steps I have tried.

1. Factory reset.

2. Xperia software repair

3. Checked my APN settings

4. Force shut down the Messaging app and cleared all data

Standard messaging app that comes with android.

Trying that now. If things work normally is it another app that is causing my issues?

So far so good .. but it normally takes a bit to start giving me issues.

If you don't experience this issue on safe mode then it's a third party app that's causing this (not a preloaded app)

So far things appear to be normal under safe mode. I'll give it some more time..

Any suggestions on how to find the culprit app? or just start removing them one at a time.
