Hi
I just installed Linux (debian) on my new S3Xp. I am really happy with the notebook (now that it has linux installed 🙂 but I would like to control the lcd brightness, to reduce it when on battery.

I tried using the sonypi and sony_acpi drivers available at:
http://popies.net/sonypi/
but none of them works on the newest vaio (I think the same proble occurs with the FS115).

Any help from other users?

Any help from Sony? Is it something that must be controlled by the bios or by the video driver? I understand you (Sony) do not support different OSs than M$ but we (customers) give you a lot of money to buy your hardware (you are supposed to be a hardware, not software vendor) and it would be nice if you could, at least, publish the required documents to have it operated under the OS of customers' choice 🙂

Regards
G.
