There are tweaks you can do, have a fiddle with the settings and google any you don't understand before you do. Sony's aren't especially well cooled, so I wouldn't recommend laptop overclocking. I personally have the same 64mb card as you, and a 2.8Ghz P4 and if I was hazarding a guess I would say that the card actually is stopping you going much higher. A processer like mine should be able to whizz along with a better card but you and I can't upgrade.
Also make sure your benchmarking program is appropriately up to date, older ones show inaccurate scores.

thx man, looks like we have the same laptop by the way..

well, my particular model seems to be relitavely good in cooling itself, after intense usage it doesnt really go above 60 degrees..so i suppose i could very slightly overclock the card..

however i saved up ages for this laptop and i dont wanna burn out the card and wreck it, furthermore...it seems to play farcry fluidly so i dont think its worth straining the components just so i can edge the water quality up in farcry fro low..to medium

dunno, just thought these drivers would make better use of the cards capabilities

60 is high, certainly don't overclock it.

Yeah you would think it would do something at least, but obviously not. Perhaps more ordinary RAM would help, then again maybe it wouldn't. A P4 and a lowish end graphics card says to me business machine, not games machine. There's really only so much you can do.

I never said that with Omega Drivers you get a preformaçe increase, im my vaio a197vp with 1gb of ram my score in 3d mark 2001se with the original sony drivers I got 10400 3d marks, with omega I got 10954 3d marks, but that is my machine, and I diden't install omega drivers overclock utilities.

In Vaio a195 with a 1.5 ghz centrino with a radeon 9200 like yours, a friend of mine got with original sony drivers got in 3dmark 2001se 6400 3d marks, and with omega drivers got 6775 3d marks.

It apears to be a preformance increase, but each system is a case, and the only thing I sugested is that Omega Drivers run Doom 3 without Crashing, that is a problem that ocurs with the drivers suplied by sony in A195, A197, and S1.

I think the Omega Drivers 2.5.67 wich are based in Catalist 4.8 but including suport for mobility chipsets, are at the moment the best alternative until Sony lauches their updated drivers, till then for running Domm 3 is one solution, if you run all games that you have without problems, forget Omega.

Sorry about the errors, but english is not my main Language.

Good Vaio Notebook Gaming for you all .
