I am sure a Floppy Drive would solve all of your problems as many Vaio's require the files to be on a floppy drive for boot & installation of bios files.

Somwhere during bootup himem.sys is being loaded and causing your problem.

William

I think my first question would be why are you flashing the BIOS? There's usually a less painful solution, post your problem here and see if anyone knows it.

If you are intent on flashing the BIOS, if you can make a boot CD, put the BIOS files on CD in the same manner.
