I use my Vaio for a lot of 3d work, mostly Truespace and 3dmax, (I make games graphics) my problem is my usb mouse, it swooshes across the screen every now and then. It's a Microsoft notebook optical mouse. My question is why does it do this and how do I stop it! I love my Vaio and I love being able to work away from my extreamly niosy and hot workstation. But this is putting a real downer on my work experience. I know stuff all about computers, so please explain in idiot talk! Many thanx for viewing.....:smileycry: Ps how do I turn off the track pad thingy I never use it I prefere my mouse and tablet.

I only have one answer and it's not a very helpful one sorry, but when you lift an optical mouse off the desk slightly then put it back down it sends the mouse pointer flying across the screen. You aren't doing that by accident are you? Took me ages to work that out when I did it.

this is not directly related to your main question but to switch the track pad off..i think you just go to control pannel > system > hardware > device manager where you should find the touchpad mouse and be able to disable it..

thats one of the first things i did cause i kept acciedently touching it while typing sending the mouse flying accross the screen

Nick
