VAIO Keyboard won't turn on

Refurbishing my mother's Vaio computer and the keyboard won't turn on, new batteries and everything.

Keyboad model: VGP-WKB14

On the lower right corner of the keyboard are 3 led lights. Topmost is comlink, middle is battery, bottom is a capital A inside a lockbox. The bottom two lights flash once when you power on the keyboard and then nothing happens.

Trying to find help in this topic has become very frustrating because all the help returns seem to ignore the fact I'm asking about the KEYBOARD and not the computer itself.

The computer powers on just fine. The on screen keyboad works just fine. The white wireless physical keyboad is what I'm having issues with.
