update help(novice)

Hi all.
Can anyone help me, i'm new with computers and can't seem to get my updates from sony. I have the little icon in my task bar(little lightning bolt,speech bubble)but when i click on it it reads. "your model information could not be found on the sever. Please try again later. message I.D=0008"
What does this mean? It's always said this and i'm registered here.
How can i resolve this and recieve updates?

Sony have released a patch that hopefully should resolve the MessageID=0008 (model not found on server) problem..

The VAIO Update 3.1.02.03190 patch can be downloaded via the Sony support download page, use the following link then select your model in the drop down list to download the update: Sony Support Downloads
