Sony Vaio VPCCW1Z4E DVD Drive Issues

My Sony Vaio VPCCW1Z4E laptop has been reformatted since it had some issues. But since then Im having some trouble with the dvd drive. Sometimes a DVD is read and it works properly but sometimes some other DVD has trouble being read and is just ejected automatically.

The same issues are with some DVD-R/ DVD+RW, etc, on which I burnt images (USB format). These DVDs cannot be read at all. Whenever inserted, it is never detected, it is not seen when searched in My Computer, or the laptop offer the option of reformatting the disc for it to be burnt as new (which cannot be done as I will lose all my existing files on the disc)

Any solutions please???

Hi.

I also have the same problem with my DVD drive.Other CD/DVD are working, but those that has a few scratches doesn't work and other new DVDs.. Should I replace my DVD drive?

CD with scratches won't work. The scratches damaged it.
