I don't think Sony isgoing to sell these cases on it's own.
RC-Series (RC102) will be available mid October.

Sony has the cases produced specially for their range of VAIOs. So can't it be that cases that are surplus to demand, are sold on via a thrid party?

You can't buy the case on it's own, but there are some sweet ones on the market now

I see your point about the cases not being sold on thier own...

But I'm going to be buying a 64bit Intel Asus motherboard & I want to build a "killer" machine with 3TeraBytes of hard disk space & upto 4Gb of 1100Mhz (Over Clocked) of RAM.

I would also like ATi's newest Graphics Card...

I system like that could cost thousands to buy... but I with all the major components I am going to need the awesome liquid cooling of the RA, RB or RC case.

I'm going to do an eBay & google search; so if anybody else is interested - reply on this post.

It seems like money might be no object so see if you can buy an "older" RA model at a discounted price and rip its innards out.

Beware, unless its all changed on the RA model, it was the norm with Sony to fit a non standard size power supply which can only be described as "Just adequate" in terms of power output, in their previous desktops.

If this is still true it might prevent all these killer components you envisage.

I wouldn't bother with this route, Asus make cases a bit like the RA, and the water cooling system can be bought seperately.

If you keep your eyes open on the web, you would be suprised at the discounts you can get.

For Example I bought a Sony F7700S for my BMW, it cost 170.00 inc delivery & the same system would normally cost you 270.00!!

One the best... I bought a Sony In-Car DVD changer, with an internet price of £800.00...

for...

wait for it...

£250.00 (brand new!!)

So, I dont mean to sound self-rightous, but the system I described would not cost as much as seems.

Any chane I can get the Vaio Digital Living System XL1 priced $2300 or the Vaio X-type before christmas.

As the new VA-Series is concerned (just a design tweak but very user friendly compared to the old V-series, eg. the horizontal DVD machanism) I think we have to wait for the beginning of next year

If you come across any of this cheap let me know.
