I also have a couple of external Hdd connected by firewire.

I use the PC mainly for video editing, and DVD production.

Yesterday, I bought the best camcorder in the world, a new Sony HDR-HC1E, as a replacement for my aging DPC9.

I use pinnacle studio, but, this reported to me yesterday that My Pc cannot capture the video, and the rate was tooo slow.

Any ideas on how to speed it up?

thanks in advance.......

Assuming you haven't already tried this.

Make sure that your capture drive has been fully defragmented and that there is a lot of free space. Capture to one on your internal drives, preferably a 7200rpm drive or better. Unplug your firewire drives..

It's also a good idea to run as few backgound processes as possible.
