Vaio laptop F Series Slow scrolling

I have a new Vaio laptop with Internet Explorer 8 installed.

Am finding that scrolling down page can be jerky and slow.

Is there a setting I can change to achieve smoother, quicker scrolling please?

Make sure Smooth Scrolling is enabled in IE8: -

How fast is your internet connection? It is possible that the page content is not downloading quickly enough to fill the screen.

Hello

Thank you for replying so quickly and supplying such clear settings instructions. I had 'smooth scrolling' unchecked and altered according to your information. It does seem to make a significant difference.

Have just checked my broadband speed at speedtest.net and it is -

Download 11.21 mbs

Upload 1.07

Our ISP is O2 and generally few problems there.

Sometimes when entering a webpage for which I have Roboform set up to log in my address or information, the page shoots down to the form rather than staying at the top of the page. Is there a setting which would stop this please?
