sony vaio pcg-fx103 help?

hi all i have a sony vaio pcg-fx103 which i have upgraded to windows xp i just want to know how often the fan should/must come on because i have had laptop running for a hour now and the fan don't come on but i am sure the fan is not broken/cable not plugged in because at turn on it works for 2 seconds the laptop is warm but not hot and has plenty of air flow i just wondered if this is normal or is there a problem with windows thanks

I think there is only a single fan - have a look inside this PCG-FX190: -

I would download a utility to measue CPU temperature - something like: -

As long as your CPU temperature remains below 75 degrees all should be OK.
