lost recovery discs

hi guys
please help an old man i bought a vaio vgn-a115b laptop in 2004 tes way back in 2004
i cannot remember if it came with back up discs if it did i have lost them
there is no recovery utility in the start menu
so here is my question how can i or indead can i get a new set of recovery discs
or is there any other way of getting to the recovery util on the laptop
any help would be very very much appreciated

Hi hux,

welcome to Club Vaio..

Your Vaio does not have HDD recovery partition so you should have had a recovery disc set supplied..

However if you contact Vaio Support you should be able to order a replacement recover disc set you can do this either by phone or via e-Support, use the following link to find the contact details: Sony Vaio Support

thanks for your help i rang sony vaio and yes i have ordered a set of recovery discs
they did not come cheap though £35 but worth it to restore my laptop i hope
