Camera malfunction

When i press the capture button, this message is coming:

"An attempt to initialize the camera failed.
Please check if another software is using the camera"

Also, msn doesn't recognize my camera.

My computer is VGN-CR11S with Windows Vista.
It's 3 days old.

I' d would be very glad is someone can help me.

Have you tried installing the camera utility update here

This camera is a common problem and the fix doesn't work for everyone but give it a go and let us know if it works for you.

Welcome to Club Vaio..

I don't think the update above is intended for your model Vaio..?

Can you please confirm the Vaio Camera Capture Utility version number that currently installed on your CR11S..?

To do this go to C > Program Files > Sony > VAIO Camera Capture Utility, then click on the Version.txt file, you should then see version= ??..

Hi! I had the same problem but installed a fix from Microsoft update and for now on it's working good with no problems and error messages.
It's a file that fix an update download of Vista.
