This will have the effect you describe. Open the sidebar again from your icons and close it down fully this time.

FE41Z Screen Shadow

I've just bought an FE41Z. Whe I first used it two days ago, the sidebar option was switched on. I turned this off, and I now notice that there's a very slight discolouration down the righthand half of the screen, which I had not noticed before, as the sidebar had partly masked the effect; the screen has a very slight sepia tinge to it when I'm viewing a white or light coloured page. It's not serious, but it is distracting, and I was wondering if this is within the acceptable tolerances of screen quality.

Also, if anyone can tell me my consumer rights in relation to taking it back to the large electrical retailer I bought if from, I'd be grateful.

As I say, the sepia tinge begins about half way across the screen. I'll take it back to the retailer and see what they say.

Hi, I'm not an expert either but I would think if there was something wrong with the screen that the sepia tinge you describe would be there on other applications other than the desktop itself. Like webpages etc etc.

If it is still there, then I'd recommend asking Sony (since I have no support) or doing a full reformat to factory settings. Sony seem to say that when they don't know whats wrong anyway, like they did with me.

Lisa
