Wireless problems

Hi al

Ive had my Vaio N11-S/W for a couple of months now. Lately I started having problems with my wireless. Sometimes it would connect on boot up, but then other times it wouldnt. I'd open the wireless connection page, but it couldnt even see the network. If I then plugged in the ethernet cable, it would also connect wirelessly.

I have since installed Vista, and now I cant see my network at all!! I can connect to the router wired though, so can access home page.

Can someone offer some help please?

My router is Netgear DG834G v3 on Vodafone at Home

Oh yeah, Ive tried changing channels to 7 and 10, but no difference. Ive also unplugged my wireless phone etc.

Hi Stan,

Have you checked if there is a firmware update for your Netgear router as this may be required for Vista compatibility..

No I havent, but its started working now. I went to the connect page earlier and it was there. Will see if it works next time I log on.

Ive discovered that it doesnt work on channel 1, but it does on 10. Why does it do that?

I cant leave it on 10 as it interferes with my TV sender upstairs.
