Problems with skype! VGN-FE41M

Hi there!

First let me excuse for my bad english. Its been a long time, since i used it. :")
I have a Problem with my new Vaio VGN-FE41M. I'm trying to use my webcam for skype and it doesnt work. Sometimes it works and sometimes not. Frustrating.

There is the message "No favored videosource found." (My translation - org. : "Keine bevorzugte Videoquelle gefunden")

I already tried "SplitVideo" but it doesnt work.

Hi nikolaus-online and welcome to Club Vaio.

Your English is a lot better than my German (or is it Belgian - there is a Bocholt there as well I think)

There is a problem with the webcam when using Vista - we have reported this to Sony and we are waiting for a fix.

Hopefully soon .............

yes my english is bad too im from Germany and have the same Vaio Notebook with Skype and the same Problem with the Webcam:-)

I hope iu can get an Update!!!

This sounds like that problem with Vista where the motion eye only works once per session due to bad drivers.

I have a second Notebook.

On this Notebook is installed.
And this integrated Webcam works.
So i think this is not a Problem with Windows, it is more a problem with the Drivers.
So Sony Vaio have this automatically Tool named "Vaio Update", why the not upload new drivers for this problem ?

Hopefully as soon as a fix has been found Sony will make this available in Vaio-update..

sorry, dass ich in Deutsch schreibe, scheint mir doch ein Problem der deutschen VAIOs zu sein.
Habe dasselbe Notebook, Vista Home Premium, und hatte das selbe Problem. Habe es folgendermaßen behoben. NICHT (!) das Vaio-Capture-Utility starten. Nur Skype und dort den Video-Button nehmen. Die Kamera kann nur von einer Instanz angesprochen werden. Hoffe, dass ich helfen konnte.

Now in english:
do not use the "Vaio-Capture-Utility", because this cam can only work by one process. Close all programms, which used the cam and then start Skype, push the video-button and it shoult works.

Sorry aber deine Argumentation ist unlogisch.
Wenn ich die Camera nutze, dann nutze ich doch nur ein Programm für die Camera, ich starte doch nicht Skype und beispielsweise MSN und nutze die Camera doppelt.
Es ist doch normal, dass ich die Camera nur jeweils in dem Moment von einem Programm aus ansporeche.
Wenn dies nicht geht, dann ist das nicht mein Problem, dann soll Sony oder MS oder wer auch immer endlich einmal handeln und einen vernünftigen Treiber für die Sache schreiben, wir alle hier haben doch auch Geld dafür ausgegeben, dass der Kram läuft, es wird doch daher möglich sein, ein Update so zu konfigurieren, dass der Treiber nach Nutzung eines Programms das die Camera anspricht auch wieder mittels dieses Treibers die Camera wieder deaktiviert und der Treiber dann ruht, bis ein anderes Programm darauf zugreift.
Ich habe nebenbei noch ein Macbookpro und dieses ganze Theater habe ich damit nicht, ich kann mit dem Gerät jederzeit von jedem Programm aus die Camera starten und wenn ich einmal zwei Programme nutze und die Camera doppelt nutzen wioll, dann sagt mit der Rechner, dass dies technisch nicht geht und fertig!!!

genau das macht er doch auch.

Ich wollte im ersten Post meinerseits nur meine Erfahrung kundtun. Hier ist immer nur vom Problem mit Skype die Rede, also geh ich davon aus, dass die Kamera ansonsten funktioniert. Wenn ja => "RtfM" Seite 44,

Ne du hast gesagt, man solle irgendein Programm deaktivieren und nein, der Fehler tritt auch bei anderen Messengern auf und ja, dieser Fehler ist bekannt und nein, der Fehler ist nicht behoben.
Und nein, dass Update behebt diesen Fehler auch nicht.

I have the same problem with my vaio VGN-FE41S. I don't understand german at all, so I've lost the last replies. Can anybody tell me if someone have the solution in english?

Yeah the Problem is not solved at this time.
