Blu Ray BDP S5500 needs to Update But Won't !!!

Hi,

I hope someone may help before I throw the blu ray player away. Bought purely for using Amazon Prime Video and it's been nothing but a pain since I got it.

Firstly, it kept saying that it was child locked and we couldn't get the disc open. That seems to have stopped thankfully.

I now wanting to subscribe to Prime Video so i can binge watch The Grand Tour Season 2 in 1 month (thus saving dosh) and the blu ray needs the latest firmware date before it will do anything.

I've recently changed broadband provider and have put in all the BT details for a wireless connection and it fails to update. It won't update with a wired connection either.

Any suggestions please. Thanks x

Use a laptop or other device to download the update to a memory stick, put the sick in the USB port and update from there.

Have you tried a factory reset? Should be able to find it in settings menu, then try to update again.
