My Xperia 1 was upgraded last Moday (feb 1st). I'm in Sweden, however, but I imagine that there should not be too many differences in upgrade dates in different european countries, even though you aren't in the EU anymore
I'm a bit disappointed though about what is new in Android 11, there are not that many differences.

As I said, those new features are not much for a major OS release upgrade.
And for the features listed in the Sony article:
- Game enhancer - I don't have that many games installed on my phone, so I don't see any need for it
- Scheduled Darkmode - I have Dark mode on always, hence no need for a scheduler
- Screen Recorder - What would I need that for?
Also, not listed in the artile, that I have found so far:
- Slightly re-arranged status menu with an enhanced music player control. The current firmware version is also displayed in this menu.
- New Power button menu, with some features associated with other Google functions, like Google Home and Google Pay, as well as an emergency button that allows for phone calls without unlocking the phone and a list of ICE numbers
- Some status bar icons are remodeled, for example, the WiFi icon has a smal ldigit attached to it to indicate which frequency band the WiFi network uses that the phone is currently using.
- Remarkably, no bloatware was bundled with the update
What's missing is the new Photo app from Mk II and it's not possible to change fonts in the GUI, only font size. The Album app is still there, however.
