I'm from India, and the phones over the past 5 years have been like this > Z3 Compact > Z5 > XZ > XZ Premium, as you can imagine, its impossible to buy another brand if one is used to Sony, more so for me, since my dad is as well, a Sony fan and I grew up watching his Sony Trinitron color TV which he proudly brought home, himself, from Japan, as well as a Walkman and a hi-fi unit. Sony to me is more than a brand, it is a memory. I will not let the fact that I'm living in a country where Xperia no longer sells, stop me from owning the Xperia 1, I need it, period.
As of now, Amazon U.S is shipping the XZ2 Premium to India, which is a brilliant replacement for my current phone, but I thought I might as well buy the latest and greatest Xperia 1 which would last me a couple of years until "Sony Mobile will be reborn", as per my authorised distributor, whom I trust. Seems Sony is taking a sabbatical from phones until 2021. Should Amazon U.S fail to supply the Xperia 1 unlocked, to India, I would like to take your help in procuring one, else I'll be making an excuse to see U.K for the first time in my life to buy this one.
Sony should understand by now, that as loyal a fanclub that Samsung and Apple have, our little Sony tribe is way more loyal because we trust in their quality and fantastic sound and picture optimization.
