Showing display over other apps screens

When I start up from off, the phone goes to a screen for displaying apps over others apps before the traditional home screen. Can anyone suggest how to disable this, please?

What phone are you using and can you share a picture/video of what you're describing?

It is an Xperia 1 ii.

So I power up and it takes me first to the permissions page dealing with
permission to write over other apps. Then I have to back out of it to go to
my home page after some delay.

Never seen anything like this before, I have to say.

Hello @Melitaboy,

did you recently install an app which "wants" this permission and therefore triggers this menu after every restart? If so, said app should be listed there and you should be able to find the culprit.

Also in Android 11 screen recording can be initiated from the quick access drawer - while I understand it might not be available right when you boot the phone, maybe you can record it anyways via that function and share the recording as a video (preferrably with status "not listed" NOT "private") on YouTube and embed it here?!
