KD-65XH9296 - Volume has a mind of its own
Hi
First post so forgive me for any lack of etiquette…
Had this TV a few years now, and suddenly it’s now spontaneously turning up to max vol with no input from me.
- have tried taking the remote batteries out but it’s not them
- have tried software upgrade and resets
i can only then surmise it’s a sensor fault (you can see the light flashing as if it is receiving a input from somewhere but it can’t be).
Anyone else seen this before?
Thanks
Richard

Is it doing this when there are no batteries in the remote control?
This could point to a fault in the receiver board on the TV.
When the TV is increasing the volume level have you checked to see if the remote control
is emitting a signal by using the camera on your phone, point the remote infra red emitter
at the cameras lens, if you can see light coming from the remote this could mean the Volume
buttons have become sticky, try cleaning around them with a pin to see if freeing up any dirt that
has accumulated.

Hi Davey, thanks for the response.
I’ll double check the remotes but I didn’t as far as pulling the batteries. Even powered off the Logitech hub.
so as you say, I also suspect the receiver hardware.
seems like an easy enough fix tho, loathe to throw the whole telly if that’s all it is.
regards

Hi @richyrich Sometimes the final option is to factory reset the TV, have you done that? I found this link to help you: https://www.sony.co.uk/electronics/support/articles/00274122?link-header

Hmmmm…. Seems to have miraculously fixed itself, for the time being…..
