TV as centre

I purchased the K-85XR90 TV along with the TN1000 receiver to use the TV as a centre speaker. Both connected with a 3.5mm stereo jack, the receivers easy setup has been completed and set HDMI control on for both. The Accoustic Sync centre is on for TV but still no sound from the TV as a centre channel.

Please help me resolve this as both products were purchased for this reason alone, the easy setup has been run many times and interesting is that it will not complete unless a separate centre channel is connected even though the receiver accepts the TV as centre channel.

The HDMI is 18G per sec and connected to the eARC input\output on both products.

I cannot find TN1000 so I have guessed at TA-AN1000.

Thank you lightfoot for your response, you are correct about the receiver as it was the TA-AN1000 I was referring to. I had to re-edit the original post considerably as it would not let me post and this is where the error originated.

I have contacted Sony Support for help and being honest the person I spoke to was not any help, so I'm not any further forward to getting it working after resetting both the TV and receiver to default settings.
