When setting up, I was only given the option of selecting ‘England’ or ‘Kent’ as my region. I don’t live in Kent, so how can I change the option to show my actual region ?
At present, we can’t get any HD channels on YouView, presumably because we can’t select the correct region.
We live about 2 miles from a transmitter and can get all available HD channels on Freesat (via Humax).
(I’ve enabled Wi-Fi location, but an still seeing Kent as my region)
Hello,
I've been pulling my hair out trying to retune my Sony KDL-32S55xx to the new region where I live, but it just keeps on retuning to the original area where I lived. There is NO initial set up button in the menu. I've tried unplugging the TV while pressing the power and volume down buttons on the TV, then, while still pressing the power and volume down buttons on the TV and plugging the power plug back into the power socket. It doesn't work.
The TV works OK but my signals are coming from the West Midlands and not from the Winter Hill Transmitter. I live on Merseyside.

My TV is stuck in the region where I lived (Wrexham and getting signal from West Midlands) but I now live on Merseyside and want to be tuned to the Winter Hill transmitter.
I have been up and down the complete menu and there is NO initial set-up button.
I've Auto-reset the TV 4 times and it keeps on tuning to the West Midlands.
An idea I found by googling, was to unplug the TV from the wall, press and hold the Power and Volume Down on the TV, then, while still pressing the power and volume down buttons, plug the powercord back in. This didn't work either.
Is there something else I can try, because I do like this TV.

Why didn't you start your own discussion instead of tagging on to a 5 year old thread?
Have you tried manually tuning your TV to the Winter Hill transmitter.
Click on the link below and enter your details,
https://www.freeview.co.uk/corporate/detailed-transmitter-information
Based on your location the results will give you the transmitters broadcasting in your location.
If the Winter Hill transmitter is listed take a note of the multiplex numbers it broadcasts, these numbers
are under the black circle with a white N inside.
Having noted the multiplex numbers you can try a manual tune using those numbers.
There are only 5 as each multiplex carries many different broadcasters/ channels.
Before manual tuning take the cable out do an auto tune see if that clears the channels.
Cable back in and do a manual tune.
Go to Settings> Channels & Inputs> Channel Setup> Manual Tuning> Digital.
The next page should be Digital Manual Tuning you may see Physical Channel, highlight and click.
next page Physical Channel, scroll down the list of numbers and select the first multiplex number you jotted down.
Press OK and then click on Scan Up.
The TV will now search for available channels on that multiplex, when done press Store.
Repeat the procedure for the other multiplexes.
Please note the instructions above and settings path and manual tuning path are for my Sony TV which is different to yours, the settings and paths may be slightly different to your TV but should get you on the right track.
Thank you for responding, Betreff.
I'm not at home until Sunday, so I will have a go doing as you suggest then.
Thank you again,
Bill
Hi Betreff,
I got home late last night and I've been up and down all of the menu completely and thoroughly, I've been at it for 6 hours.
All I can access on manual tuning is the ability to type in channel numbers, and apart from the channels from the West Midlands no other numbers work.
There is NO facilty for selecting a region.
There is NO facilty for setting the TV back to factory settings.
I have another TV which is connected to the same aeriel pointing towards Winter Hill and the channels are all there and the reception is superb.
The Sony Bravia KDL-32S55xx that I want to receive signals from Winter Hill, still receives it's signals from the West Midlands and the reception is OK.
It's driving me up the wall, so if I cannot change the region, I'll give the TV to a charity shop.
I am grateful for your suggestions, but sadly they don't work on this TV.
Thank you again.
Bill.
Hi
As you’ve tried everything else -
all I can suggest is unplugging your set, taking it to a friend who lives much closer to Winter Hill and setting up the region there. Maybe it’s a long shot, but if all else has failed……
Under your Settings menu > System is there not an Initial Setup option.
The manual tune option should work if you have the correct multiplex numbers for the Winter Hill transmitter.
I manually tune my Sony TV, without issue.
As you already have a TV tuned to Winter Hill at another location in your house you
could take the TV you are trying to tune to Winter Hill to the other TVs location.
With the aerial unplugged do an auto tune to clear any saved channels.
Put the aerial back in and do an auto tune. If the aerial is set to receive from Winter Hill then the auto tune should store the multiplexes and the channels it broadcasts to your TV.
Having tuned the TV you can now take it to its original location in the house, plug in the aerial and power up.
DO NOT RE-TUNE.
The TV should now be receiving signals from Winter Hill.
