the amount of things that have gone wrong for me after this update is becoming really upsetting. after three years of everything mostly being great, this tv is now a massive cause of stress.
- selecting an hdmi input shows a blank screen or flashes the screen black for a second then goes back to where you were
- screen settings (not picture settings) can’t be selected for Apps, only inputs or digital
- pressing the settings button on the remote brings up the quick settings along the bottom of the screen but with all the changeable options missing
- apps on external storage get moved to the end of the Your apps slider on the For you page on the Home Screen no matter how many times you put them back to the left
- Basic TV app (not YouView) shows black screen
- Live tab goes missing from Home Screen
- BRAVIA Notifications keep re-appearing even after being deleted
sometimes a reboot (long press power button > restart) gets the HDMI inputs working normally, sometimes a power cycle briefly solves other problems.
i did do a factory reset after the new update introduced these faults, and everything was fine … until it updated again. I assume a factory reset uses an older system image onboard, I didn’t check the version numbers.
Help > Status & Diagnostics > Self diagnostics says everything is fine, which it clearly isn’t.
Honestly, this is exasperating! This has been going on for two months now, Sony must know about it!
