Yet another failed TV A80J & X90L Twice
Hey
Not posted in a while, but thought I would check if anyone has had any similar issues.
I originally purchased an 55A80J in Oct 2022, which came with a 5 year warranty, which suffered a failed panel in Dec 2023, it was eventually replaced after an extended period of argument with both Sony UK and Sony Centre the original retailer. While I did end up with a replacement the only option I was given for a replacement was an X90L which is in no way a suitable replacement in my view so I filed a claim in Small Claims which Sony paid.
My A80J was collected on the 4th of May 2024 and the X90L arrived on the 24th of May, and from day one the colours looked a little off in my view but thought it was the poor quality after having an OLED. By Sept 2024 the first X90L developed vertical lines and was replaced again under warranty. Straight away the picture quality was better, not as good as the A80J but a major improvement to the first X90L. I did wonder if the Sony Centre store had some fun with it before delivering it since I complained a lot during this process but I have evidence of that. Last week the TV was working fine then all of a sudden of a sudden it turned off and had the dreaded 4 flashing lights and has not turned on since. To Sony's defence they didn't argue the return this time, but the exchange date is not until the 29th so again another 3 weeks with no TV again and over easter too so my gaming weekend went out the window. The cherry on top was the Sony agent's attitude of congratulations you get a new TV!
Is it normal to for Sony products to be this bad, and the customer service to be so poor?
