Is it possible to charge my DCR SX33 battery, while in the camcorder, through the cigarette socket of my car?
I don't think a genuine Sony cable is available, however, I've seen cables advertised for certain specific Handycam models, though not the SX33.
The reason I want one is that I'm using the SX33 as a dash cam, & it's usefulness is limited by a 2 hour battery life between charges.
...Really need to know what the use is...
I don't know that model, but if you've searched then it's unlikely it's available, (other than s/h ).
If this is an old camcorder being used for ... what? do you really need to use that? - or would a dash-cam be a better bet? - some of them are available for nearly the price of a charging cable . . . but are pretty difiicult to fathom the Menu, they record to SDHC memory.
Sony does some action cams - maybe one would suit a "sport use" as well? - or one of the BOSS camcorders, like CX410 which will supress much car-movement. The mid-larger battery is good for 4 hrs Electrically I'm not keen on running electronic ger on a car battery, unless specifically designed (like Car-Radio)-there is risk that engine-noise/Wipers/etc could feed through and spoil parts of the recording.
You will need a secure means of holding any dash-mounted kit and keep out of the driver's central vision, too.
