I am heading to Australia for a month in the summer. Just checking my trusty HDR-TG3 camcorder that still delivers really good video and noticed that when I slip in my Sony Stick PRO Duo 16 GB card I get the following message on the screen.
Funny enough it still seems to record correctly. What is going on? Can I trust the card on the summer’s trip? I have a 8 GB card that works perfectly but at the highest quality recording that one will only give me a total of just under 60 mins, the 16GBG card will give me an additional 120 mins.
Hi @younso, when this error message is displayed, it means that you're using an incompatible memory card check this link: https://www.sony.co.uk/electronics/support/memory-camcorders-hdr-tg-series/hdr-tg3e/articles/0002386... Also in page 23 here: https://www.sony.com/electronics/support/res/manuals/3288/32885231M.pdf it states that due to the limited capacity of the "Memory Stick pro DUE" make sure to save the data to some type of external media. It could mean that the memory stick is full, try to delete some content and test again.
OK, I think page 23 refers to the face that the cards can only store a certain amount to video ie 8 GB, 16 GB etc and then they are full. That is when you transfer the info to a hard drive, a CD/DVD disc etc.
I have reformatted the 16 GB with no change when I use it. I also checked out the link about compatibility that you referred to, unfortunately the TG3E is not listed with that card:(. Funny enough I had problems finding the TG3E no matter which MemoryStick I chose.
But hey, thanks for replying to my question :).
