My Sony HDR MV1 doesn't record video continuously!

Hello!

I bought my Sony HDR MV1 and the video doesn't record all along. It makes stops and starts recording again. I saw that many of the stops were after some 35 minutes of recording. I don't know if it's a coincidence. Some were shorter.

Can anybody help me with solving this problem?

(I am not a very technical guy, so if you can describe what I need to do in an easy-language description )

It probably has to do with the memory card you are using.

It sounds to me like you use a FAT32 formatted card, which only allows for 4GB files at a time.

If you want to get bigger single-file recordings, you need to invest into a SDXC card and format it inside the camera or on your PC/MAC to the file-system "exFAT".
