Hello,
I recently purchased a Sony HDR cx260.The ac adapter does not charge the battery. However when plugged in to th ac adapter the camera operates. It recharges well when charging via USB. Any idea what could be the issue? Thanks
Oliver

Hi Oliver, welcome to the Sony Forums
Check this page and make aure you are following the correct procedure for charging the battery.
If it still won't charge it may be that the contacts are dirty or damaged, of the charger or battery has malfunctioned. Assuming the camera is still under warranty you should be able to get a replacement.
Cheers

Hi there
Verify that the camera adapter brick is receiving power.
Shut down the computer and unplug the adapter from the system first and then from the power socket. Wait 5 seconds.
Plug the adapter directly into the wall socket, bypassing surge protectors, UPS units, or extension cords. The adapter LED should produce a steady green light.
If you do not get a green light, try the adapter in another wall outlet in another room or verify that the first outlet works with a lamp or hairdryer.
You can also isolate the power problem to a bad adapter by swapping it out with a second adapter - such as one for use with the port replicator.
Please use other good power cord for the adapter
Cheers
