Hi Sony Community
I have a Sony Experia SGP 312 Tablet purchased in 2015. (yes I know I am not very up to date).
It works perfectly but only has Android 4.3 installed, so I cannot download material from BBC etc.
I would like to download Android 5 or above but going into the Sony website it doesn't recognise this Tablet, so I guess they want you to buy a new one.
Does anyone know if a newer Android version can be installed please.
I'm afraid there won't be any updates available for it initially, I mean I have an Xperia Z1 and it's out of support. you'd need to root the device to have an OS installed that's higher than the last version the device has, but to do that you must have developer knowledge to be able to deal with software errors, and to create a custom ROM and all.
Great, many thanks for your help on this.
It is a shame you cannot get though to Sony, so they can answer the question.
I certainly won't be buying any Sony merchandise again when you cannot even contact them and have to rely on helpful outsiders such as you.
Regards
