No sound on dubbed video using RDR-VX420 recorder

Hi 

am trying to dub my wedding video to DVD using RDR-VX420 video/ DVD recorder.

when I play video the sound is fine.

But when I dub it there is no sound during the dubbing process or on the final DVD

machine is connected to TV via SCART leads

any ideas or tips?
