Help needed downloading photos

Hi I've just got an Xperia Arc S and have tried to download photos from my toshiba laptop using 'Media Go'.  When I look on the Xperia to view them and attach them to my contacts I go into the 'Media Gallery' and the whole screen starts flashing on and off.  Sometimes I can see that a space has been created for the new photos and it tells me how many have been added but they aren't visible and, as I've said, the whole screen is constatly flashing. The only way I've found to stop it is to press 'Home' and then remove the photos using the 'Media Go' system.  When I first had the phone I managed to add 4 photos sucessfully using the same process but now it seems I can't get any more on there?

Can anyone help me resolve this issue and am I the only one who has come across this?

Many thanks.

this is what I would do

on your phone go to

settings -> sonyericsson -> connectivity -> USB Connection mode -> Mass storage mode (MSC)

now connect your Xperia to your computer, go to your SD card/Phone Card -> create a new folder -> call it contact pictures or anything you want

transfer/copy/paste the pictures into that folder, unmount your phone -> go to your phonebook -> select a contact -> edit -> tap on the silhouette icon -> gallery -> select Gallery -> look for the album/folder you've created -> select the picture -> crop it and save, voila. repeat as needed
