it doesn't seem that you understand the update process, once Sony is start rolling out the update, it's up to each region/country to get it approved, if you are locked to a network it will take longer to be released. read the link above

Hello uliwooly,
the article http://developer.sonymobile.com/2011/12/07/ice-cream-sandwich-from-source-code-release-to-software-u...
describes the steps from Nov. 14. 2011 (Release of ICS by Google) and the beginning of the rollout at Sep. 28 2012. All programmers working is done and the tests and certificates are made (otherwise the rollout didn't start). The point of my anger is, that with the current Firmware-Version GPS doesn't work properly. The answer to this problem was all the time, wait for the ICS update, then it will work. Now the update is ready but it won't be shipped to all customers.
At the end it is one thing that counts for me: SONY sold me a phone, that doesn't do what it should do. And in my opinion a good company trys to get it fixed as soon as posible. And when they can't do that timenear, they tell the cusomer a date, when his porblem is fixed. Instead SONY publish a list of SI numbers and the customer has to check if they may update now. For me this is the wrong way.

if there are bugs you will get updates that fix this issues, just like with the 2010 and 2011 Xperias, I wonder if it's a firmware version issue, there are some users that have the same problem with their Xperia S but I have great GPS. just wait for future bug fix updates, there isn't an OEM that will release an update without bugs.
keep an eye here, once it's approved by PTCRB the roll out its soon for the new update

Hello uliwooly,
the link shows, that the current SW Version was certified on Sep 25, 2012. I don't need another newer Version than 6.1.1.B.1.10. I need 6.1.1.B.1.10 so I can use the GPS. GPS and waterproofness were the reasons why I decided to buy a smartphone and take this model. So why should I check this list of certificated versions on top of the daily check of the magic SI List. Will there be an other Version for the German market? If yes, it would be nice to know, when it will be available.
because new updates fix bugs, if you think your GPS issue it's hardware related take it to Sony repair center, even if it's software, take it to a sony repair center, they might be able to help you
The information I found in this forum were, that the GPS-Bug is Software related. Otherwise it would be a very bad behavior to tell the ICS update will fix it. Now you tell me don't wait for the customer friendly way to update the software by Internet. Instead I should invest more time by finding and visiting a Sony repair center. And after I done this, they might tell me, its Software related and put on the update to 6.1.1.B.1.10. And next day after I spend the time to get to the repair center, the update is available for my phone in Internet. So the customer need to know, when the update will be available before and not after the SI number is unlocked.
