Which is better to use between the two? My phone is wt13i(Mix walkman). I have noticed that when I'm using SE update service, there is no mix walkman in the choices, just WT13(which is a different variety). Is there any difference between the two?(wt13 & wt13i). If there is, why is wt13i(Mix Walkman) not included in the choices of phones in SE update service?

I don't think there is any difference, as SEUS will recognise your software version (and therefore your location) without actually asking for your location.
However, judging from a lot of reports on this forum, using PC companion to run the update has proven to be problematic in comparison to using SEUS directly (with a few exceptions), so overall I would say that SEUS is more reliable than PC companion, at least in terms of being able to run an update successfully.
These two versions of the phone are virtually identical, barring any regional and/or network customisation software variations (the i stands for international). Using PC companion to run the update can be problematic sometimes, but other than that, there's no difference here either as it involves the same process and the same software version, as running the update directly through the SE update service application.
another question sir, what do people mean when they say perform phone repair via pc companion? is this process the same as a software update? why isnt there any phone repair feature in the SE update service?
yes it is, but SEUS (Sony Ericsson Update Service) its by far more reliable, just run SEUS and then it will ask you if you want to repair/update
Depending on the type of phone, the phone repair option can be found either in SEUS or in PC Companion.Whereas SEUS can either update or re-install the software (if there isn't a new software version), the repair option is supposed to search for and repair any software problems where possible, ending with a software re-installation at the end of the process.
thank you for your reply sir! but i think i am using pc companion because i can select locations here, i think software updates depend on locations, doesnt it?
Yes, updates are region specific and if the phone is customised, also network specific.
so it just mean that since only pc companion has the option to select a location, then it follows that it is more reliable than SEUS, am i right?
